FCC Environment wins the urban sanitation contract in Sestao (Vizcaya)
The City Council of Sestao, in Vizcaya, has awarded FCC Medio Ambiente (the Spanish brand for FCC Environment), in a joint venture with another company of the sector, the contract for waste collection and street cleaning service, as well as the provision of the rat extermination, debugging and disinfection service, for a period of four years and an order book value of €13.42 million, with a possible extension of two years.
To serve the approximately 28,000 inhabitants of the Sestao municipality, FCC Medio Ambiente will have a workforce of 55 people, and expects to collect more than 9,000 tons per year of different waste fractions.
FCC will have a newly-acquired fleet of eight vehicles for waste collection service, one suction-impeller vehicle for gully cleaning and 16 vehicles and machines and various auxiliary equipment for the cleaning service. The new contract will include electrical equipment such as an inspection van, three cleaning tricycles and four Piaggio Quargo type auxiliary vehicles, as well as electric-powered string trimmers and blowers.
All services will be organized and controlled through VISION, integrated digital management platform designed and developed exclusively by FCC Medio Ambiente, which enables a response to the needs of all the agents involved: client, company and citizens.
