The mayor of Las Palmas, Augusto Hidalgo, was the key player at the information event held in Madrid yesterday organised by Nueva Economía Fórum.

FCC Medio Ambiente takes part in an event with the mayor of Las Palmas

During his speech, the mayor explained some of the priorities of his government and stated that new technology, used to increase the quality of life and social equity of citizens "is what defines a ‘smart city’", a sector that he listed as one of the top three priorities of his municipal Government.

In addition, in one of the questions asked during the information event, the councillor also showed his interest in electric cars and emphasised that Las Palmas is the city that has most increased the number of charging points it offers in the Canary Islands.

FCC Medio Ambiente also participated in this information event with Jordi Payet, the managing director of FCC Medio Ambiente, representing the FCC Group, who was also accompanied by several political authorities.
The FCC Group has a very notable presence in the Canary Islands regarding all activities in the environmental services area.
