FCC Medio Ambiente participates in an international landfill mining congress

FCC Medio Ambiente has participated in an international landfill mining congress in the section “Flagship initiatives (context, used technologies, results, cost and environmental balance)”. The event was organised by the EIT Raw Materials-Colocation Centre South, the Wasteresource By-product Exchange of Catalonia (Council of Catalan Chambers of Trade) and the Waste Agency of Catalonia (Agència de Residus de Catalunya). In this session, Javier Cerezo, Technical Director of FCC Medio Ambiente International, acted as moderator for the experts panel.
FCC Medio Ambiente participates in an international landfill mining congress

Florian Scheibe, Chief Operations Officer of FCC Environment Austria, presented the company’s experience of landfill mining in the Austrian localities of Tainach and Halbenrain.

The purpose of this seminar was to increase knowledge on landfill mining techniques to support the society’s evolution towards a circular economy model. The purpose of this is to reduce the environmental impact of the elimination of waste and at the same time encourage the recovery of energy and materials.
