FCC improves the energy performance of its head office building in Las Tablas (Madrid)<br />

As part of FCC's underlying commitment to sustainable development, sensible resource management and the search for innovative solutions that contribute to enhancing respect for the environment, it has implemented an energy management system, based on the ISO-50001 standard, in the Las Tablas building that is home to its head office.

This system requires the consumption levels of different installations to be measured, so that if an unexpected increase is identified, the reasons for it will be indicated and proposals that improve energy performance can subsequently be sought and implemented.

During 2014-2015, FCC has managed to improve the energy efficiency of its head office, substantially reducing natural gas and electricity consumption. The energy efficiency measures that have been taken during 2014-2015 are as follows:

- Optimisation of lighting and air-conditioning procedures.
- Installation of meters to measure the main sources of consumption.
- Optimisation of contracted power.
- Updating to more energy efficient equipment (LED lighting in car parks and lift lobbies).

These measures have led to a saving that has been reflected in a 27% and 4% reduction, respectively, in CO2 emissions.
