FCC participates in the 10th Infrastructures Meeting organised by Deloitte and ABC

FCC took part in the 10th Infrastructures Meeting organised by Deloitte and ABC on 13 March in Madrid. This seminar, inaugurated by the Minister for Development, Iñigo de la Serna, brought together the main leaders of the country’s construction companies - FCC, Acciona, Ferrovial and Sacyr – who discussed the current situation in the sector and the perspectives for the future.

The seminar was attended by the main figures in the sector such as José María Piñero, General Director of the Sociedad Estatal de Infraestructuras del Transporte Terrestre (SEITSA), who discussed the sectorial perspectives for roads – the Roads Investment Plan (PIC) and the radial motorways. A round table was held later with the title “Opportunities and challenges in the global infrastructures market.” Participating in this were Alejandro de la Joya, Managing Director of Ferrovial-Agroman, Luis Castilla, Managing Director of Acciona Infraestructuras, Jose María Orihuela, Managing Director of Sacyr Construcción and Pablo Colio, Managing Director of the FCC Group. In his speech, Pablo Colio noted the role of construction companies in the international market. “We went abroad somewhat hastily and now most of use are  retreating to the countries in which we are comfortable and where we know how the market functions. This has caused profit margins to align with those we had historically in Spain.”

The meeting continued with another panel that discussed the role of institutional investors and of the capitals market in the infrastructures sector. Participating in it were  Mar Beltran, Senior Director Infrastructure Sector Specialist S&P Global Ratings, Sergio Rodriguez Casado, Director in Spain and Portugal of Meridiam Infrastructure, Gonzalo Gómez Retuerto, Managing Director of the Mercado Alternativo de Renta Fija (MARF) and Manuel Beldarraín, Managing Director of Macquarie España. They all emphasised the abundant equity available in the market for making investments.
