FCC, Spain's leading construction company
For the first time, FCC headed the list of Spanish companies in terms of construction revenue, based on data presented to Spain's National Securities Market Commission.
FCC's revenue totalled 7.744 billion euro, half of which came from outside Spain; revenues at the company's closest rival, ACS, amounted to 6.625 billion euro, down 10% with respect to the previous year.
The revenue ranking has traditionally been headed by ACS, followed by Ferrovial; however, 2008 was a year of historic change.
