They tackled the business issue that phishing or identity theft gives rise to, and how interoperability of the security architecture (capacity of information systems to exchange and use information) is configured as an important tool to deal with it by means of communication between the security controls.

Manuel España, Systems manager at FCC, gave everyone a warm welcome and, during his talk, highlighted the important role that the Group plays in terms of cybersecurity, as a member of the Spanish Association for the Advancement of Information Security from its very beginnings and actively participating in initiatives such as Cyber-ex, organised by the Association and with the aim of raising awareness and improving business resilience.

On behalf of Intel Security, Raj Samani, an active member of the information security industry, analysed the current situation in the sector, by means of participating in numerous initiatives to improve knowledge and application of security in companies and society, and gave his vision on the interoperability required in security architectures.

He revealed a very important figure during his talk: it is estimated that there are 397 new threats per minute. Samani spoke about the different ways of preventing these threats, as well as the most common "attack vector" for companies.

The session ended with a message of awareness for companies to improve their capacity to detect and respond to Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and other targeted attacks, using security architectures which provide a fast response to security incidents.
