Jaime Mayor Oreja, Member of European Parliament (MEP) and Vice-Chair of the European People's Party, participated in the Friday lecture series at Nuestra Casa retirement home in Collado Villalba (Madrid). This is one of the projects organised at the home by FCC's volunteer programme in cooperation with the Esther Koplowitz Foundation, in order to provide companionship for the residents.

In his presentation, Mr Mayor Oreja shared his ideas and vision on Spain's role in twenty-first century Europe. He also discussed in detail the current political scenario, from both European and Spanish standpoints, and the situation in the Basque Country, where he was born.

Mr Mayor Oreja received a standing ovation from the residents, who shared their opinions with him after the lecture.
