Juan Béjar visits the FCC Medio Ambiente Canary Islands Office
As part of his schedule of meetings with management teams in FCC's business areas, Juan Béjar, Vice-Chairman and CEO of FCC, visited the FCC Medio Ambiente Canary Island Office on 10 June.
Mr Béjar toured the Canary Island Central Office and the machinery depot, where the 165 cleaning vehicles which serve the city of Las Palmas are located.
He was accompanied on his visit by Agustín García Gila, Chairman of FCC Medio Ambiente; Jordi Payet, General Manager of FCC Medio Ambiente; Faustino Elías, manager of Zone II; and Angel Castanedo, Manager of the Canary Island Office.
Mr Castanedo and Mr Elías informed Mr Béjar about the main contracts managed by the Canary Island Office, of which there are 13, the largest, in revenue terms, being those in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Telde (Gran Canaria), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) and Tías (Lanzarote), which were awarded last year. It's worth noting that Lanzarote's main resorts are in the municipality of Tías. They also spoke about future business development in the Canary Islands.
The office currently has a staff of 1,442, 676 of whom work in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Aside from the vehicles of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria contract the Delegation has another 372 to serve the rest of the contracts, with a total of 537 vehicles.
After visiting FCC's facilities, Mr Béjar had a meeting at city hall with Juan José Cardona González, Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; Angel Sabroso Ramírez, First Deputy Mayor; and Agustín Gutiérrez Márquez, Alderman in charge of Finance.
