The media outlets El País and La Cope discuss FCC´s task of cleaning the coastline

FCC carries out cleaning of the Spanish coastline every year during the months of greater tourist influx, in order to increase the value of the quality of maritime waters and enhance respect for the environment and sustainability in these spaces. The service is undertaken on a stretch between the coastline and 0.5 nautical miles out to sea; boats carry out cleaning in the area nearest to bathers or even within directly within the bathing area.

This week, the newspaper El País published an interview with an employee of FCC who manages one of the vessels that engages in waste collection off the coast of Barcelona. These boats are specifically designed to collect floating and semi-floating debris, algae and jellyfish in bathing areas, as well as small crude spills on beaches and harbours. The crew is managed by a professional skipper who, in addition to the tasks of navigation, is in charge of governing the drive mechanisms of the collection system.

La Cope radio station has also been interested in this cleaning operation on the coastline, and the account by the FCC employee.
