Manuel Camacho presented his latest book at Nuestra Casa retirement home.

Manuel Camacho, who is a trustee of the Esther Koplowitz Foundation, presented his book of poems entitled "Aromas de sándalo" (Aromas of sandalwood) as part of the series of Friday lectures organised by FCC Volunteers at the Nuestra Casa retirement home in Collado Villalba, Madrid.

Manuel Camacho presented his latest book at Nuestra Casa retirement home.

Camacho, who is a Commandant in the Spanish Air Force Engineering Corps, was accompanied by his editor, Basilio Rodriguez Cañada of Ediciones Sial, who described his career as a poet.

The poet gave a brief presentation of "Aromas de sándalo", which seeks to engage the reader through descriptions of the author's life experiences. The book is structured in five parts: "The Mulberry", a paean to wisdom through the search for the truth; "The Blackbird", a song to love and friendship as the fruits of generosity, disinterestedness and abjuration; "The Oak", dedicated to freedom combined with respect for others; "The Almond Tree in Blossom", inspired by hope; and "The Cypress", focused on death but imbued with hope. The poet read some verses aloud from each section of the book.

Following the presentation, Manuel Camacho signed copies of the book which he and his editor donated to the many residents and guests in attendance.
