The new edition of We are FCC, the Group’s magazine, published
Number 4 of We are FCC is now available. On this occasion, the cover is dedicated to Aqualia, which has been chosen as the “best company of the year” in the water sector. Inside the magazine, the Group’s pages highlight information on the new 2020 FCC Corporate Responsibility Master Plan approved by the Board of Directors as well as the loyalty awards, FCC’s award as Best Company of the Year, the solidarity award to Esther Koplowitz, the award to the Dallas plant as the best recycling plant in the USA and the award to the Wanda Metropolitano, built by FCC, as “Best Municipal Public Works 2017” in Madrid.
This edition also includes other matters of interest such as the article describing the 40 years in which FCC has been committed to electric mobility in urban services, in the Did you know? section.
The Business pages contain information on the adjudication of the rubbish collection and street cleaning service in Sant Antoni de Portmany (Ibiza), the inauguration of the new phase of the All-Gas project that Aqualia has installed in the treatment plant in Chiclana (Cadiz) and the inauguration of the Mersey bridge (United Kingdom) together with an interview with José Manuel Dochao, Merseylink CJV Construction Director.
The Personalities section opens with the presentation of the Aqualia book "Women in first person." It also contains information on the International Day of Disabled Persons and the actions carried out as well as a photograph of the seven women in the Group who successfully finished the Management Development Programme for Women with High Potential. This section also contains interviews with Juan Manuel Blanco of the FCC Purchases Department on company travel and with Nuria Gallego Salvador, FCC Industrial RMS Technical/Commercial Director on energy-efficient solutions in urban environments.
The first pages of the Management section are dedicated to the actions during International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This is followed by a report on the social and environmental commitment of FCC Construcción in building line 2 of the Panama Metro and the commitment of FCC Medio Ambiente with the employment of young people through the agreement signed with the Asociación Norte Joven. It also provides data on the pilot initiative started in San Sebastián to encourage responsible environmental behaviour by the public and on the celebration of the 20 years of the first Aqualia certificate for quality management according to the ISO 14001 standard.
Turning the page, Well-being includes news on the prestigious prize for health and safety management excellence granted to FCC Environment UK and information on training seminars in the prevention of occupational risks started by Aqualia and the internal training on occupational accidents investigation undertaken in the Group.
The Innovation pages in this edition talk about the ELAN project and the interest shown by the largest company in the United Kingdom, Thames Water. Communities discusses the adjudication of the cleaning and waste collection service in Bilbao, the adjudication of the Glina (Romania) WWTP and the road maintenance measures in Bratislava (Czech Republic). This section closes with a report on Matinsa, which has won the contract for the fire prevention and extinguishing service in the eastern area of the Region of Madrid. Communication visits the Smart City Congress and the Group's presence.
The magazine closes with the section of brief items and the back cover shows false myth number 12 in the Aqualia information campaign explaining various objective realities that contribute to exploding false myths in society on the management of the integral water cycle.
