Andrés Aberasturi, who is married with two children, was born in Madrid and graduated in journalism. He has worked at the "Informaciones" (Alicante) and "Pueblo" newspapers, Spanish National Radio, Spanish National Television, and Telecinco, for which he is remembered as a news reader and as presenter on such programmes as "Telecinco dígame" and "Al limite de la realidad". He currently participates in such programmes as "Madrid opina" and "El Mundo TV".

Aberasturi, whose son Cris has suffered from cerebral palsy since birth, also created Fundación Nido (http://www.fundacionnido.es), which seeks to provide aid to people with physical, psychological and sensory disabilities, with a special focus on people with cerebral palsy. The Esther Koplowitz Foundation has also played a key role in this project.

Basilio Rodriguez Cañada, director of Sial publishing house and Aberasturi's editor, held a lively discussion with the author which included an overview of his career and personal life as well as a reading from his work. The public was especially moved when he read passages from a book dedicated to his son called "Un blanco descubrimiento (Palabras para Cris)".

Sial publishing house donated more than 100 copies of Aberasturi's book, which he signed and handed out to residents and staff.
