The employees are Yolanda Gallego and Mikel Treviño, who are in charge of street cleaning, and Candido Romero, a truck driver assigned to the Júndiz biocomposting plant.

Yolanda and Mikel were commended for refusing to hand over a waste collection truck to a group of over 30 rioters on 27 November; Candido, for climbing into a truck that was burning inside the biocomposting plant and driving it out into the open on 14 December.

FCC has been providing municipal solid waste management and street cleaning services in Vitoria-Gasteiz since 2006.
