FCC organises volunteer event with abandoned animals at ANAA for 10 April

FCC employees and their families and friends are invited to participate in an exciting and gratifying volunteer event on 10 April at the Adoption Centre of the Abandoned Animal Welfare Association (ANAA) in Fuente el Saz del Jarama (Madrid).

During the session, ANAA will discuss responsible pet ownership and animal training and behaviour, as well as the Association and its facilities. After lunch, the volunteers will walk and groom the animals or help out with gardening and cleaning, among other activities.

ANAA has asked for 50 volunteers, and FCC employees can bring their family members and/or friends (children age 10 and up).

Details of the event:

Date: Sunday, 10 April 2011.

Location: ANAA's facilities in Fuente el Saz de Jarama (Madrid).

Schedule: From 11.30 am to 5.00 pm.

10.30. Volunteers will be picked up in Madrid, at Calle General Perón 36, and brought by bus to Fuente el Saz de Jarama (Madrid).

11.30. Arrive at ANAA.

11.45. Presentation (approx. 1 hour).

1.00. Guided visit of the centre and facilities (1h).

2.00. Picnic (organised by FCC).

3.00. Volunteer work begins.

5.00. Return to Madrid.

The Abandoned Animal Welfare Association (Asociación Nacional Amigos de los Animales—ANAA) was created in 1992 by three young people who wanted to do something about the large number of abandoned animals; they set up the association in San Agustín del Guadalix (Madrid) and started taking animals in.
