FCC’s legal department holds its second professional seminar
FCC’s legal department held its second professional seminar yesterday, during which it gave an overview of the company, the commitments of the legal service and its organisation.
The seminar was opened by FCC Group’s CEO, Carlos M Jarque, who gave a presentation on the development of the Group in recent years and the change undertaken during this time. Jarque detailed the company’s financial and operational pillars, emphasising the commitment to build a shared culture and strengthen collaboration between the various business areas. He also spoke of the need to concentrate on work as the only way to achieve synergies.
Regarding the legal department, the CEO said that “FCC has a first rate team with the qualities to identify, assess, mitigate and manage the company’s legal risk and its business activities.” He referred to the request in 2016 to “reduce costs and increase efficiency, reduce outsourcing and increase the automation of information handling,” mentioning the progress made. He encouraged the entire team to continue to work with dedication and enthusiasm.
José Cerro, General Director of FCC Group’s legal department, then spoke of adapting the organisation to the new strategic plan, the new structure and the functions of each of the managers. He also emphasised the need for controlling and reducing the cost of external lawyers, of taking advantage of the synergies among the legal services in the Group and of being more efficient.
During the morning, teamwork exercises were undertaken including sharing experiences and motivation skills.
In the afternoon, the seminar continued with talks by Daniel Gómez Olano, FCC Group’s Corporate Fiscal Director, on fiscal aspects of interest, by Ana Benita Aramendía, Corporate Recruitment, Training and Labour Relations Director, who spoke on the New Employment Reform and by Gianluca D’Antonio, FCC Group’s IT Director, who explained the “Keys to the secure handling of legal information”.
To end the seminar, talks were given under the theme of “Systems for preventing crime in companies” from, Berta Aguinaga Barrilero, of the Ontier legal firm and Marcos Bada Gutiérrez, FCC Group’s Internal Audits Director. This was followed by questions and answers moderated by José Fernando Cerro Redondo, General Director of FCC Group’s legal department.
FCC’s General Secretary Felipe B García was responsible for closing the seminar with a talk on the requirement to reduce the outsourcing of external lawyers to a minimum, he also made an appeal for increased efficiency, motivation and the generation of value.

La jornada transcurrió por la tarde con la intervención de Daniel Gómez Olano, director corporativo Fiscal del Grupo FCC, con la ponencia sobre Aspectos fiscales de interés; Ana Benita Aramendía, directora corporativa Selección, Formación y RRLL, quien habló sobre la ¿Nueva reforma laboral?, y Gianluca D’Antonio, director IT del Grupo FCC, quien explicó las “Claves para el manejo seguro de la información jurídica”.
Y para finalizar con el carrusel de ponencias, y bajo el paraguas de “Los sistemas de prevención del delito en las sociedades mercantiles. Análisis técnico del Código Penal y aplicación práctica en FCC”, intervinieron Berta Aguinaga Barrilero, del despacho de abogados Ontier, y Marcos Bada Gutiérrez, director Auditoría Interna del Grupo FCC. A continuación se abrió un turno de ruegos y preguntas moderado por José Fernando Cerro Redondo, director general de Asesoría Jurídica del Grupo FCC.
Felipe B. García, secretario general de FCC, fue el encargado de clausurar la Jornada. En su intervención habló del requisito de reducir el número de externalizaciones de abogados externos y apeló a la exigencia de ser cada vez más eficientes y a continuar con la ilusión, la motivación y la generación de valor.
