FCC volunteers in Barcelona commence Friday lecture series with top chef Albert Pi

Albert Pi, owner and chef of one of Barcelona's top restaurants, Gurqui, spoke at La Nostra Casa retirement home in Barcelona about the history and future of the traditional pig slaughtering ritual, the related culture and cuisine, and the importance of pork and pork products in Spain and Europe.

Albert gave a very animated lecture to residents, employees, volunteers and family guests. He shared his experience and passion about fine food, regaling the audience with stories about pork and the slaughter ritual, which has become something of a social event. It was both an informative and enjoyable start to the Barcelona lecture series.
