"The Baltic Transport Journal" magazine publishes article on the FCC-built LNG tank in Finland

“The Baltic Transport Journal” ha publicado en su última edición un artículo que describe el avance y la dimensión de la construcción del tanque de almacenamiento de Gas Natural Licuado (GNL) en el puerto de Tahkoluoto, Pöri, en la costa oeste de Finlandia.

The new terminal has a storage capacity of 30,000 m3 and is set to be ready for use during the last quarter of 2016.

Shipped in on tankers, the natural gas is stored in liquid form since its liquid volume is 600 times lower than its volume as a gas. To store the natural gas in liquid form, the tanks must be kept a temperature of 168 ºC below zero. Once the natural gas has been stored in liquid form, when required for use it is turned back into a gas and pumped into the pipeline network.

Thanks to its extensive knowledge, experience and backlog of past work, FCC Industrial is at the forefront of implementing this type of project.
