The mayor of Madrid visits the urbanization works Mahou-Calderón
The mayor of Madrid visited the Mahou-Calderon urbanization works, executed by FCC.
The visit to which he accompanied Antonio Pérez Gil, director Central Zone, brought together president of Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo; and the President of the Compensation Board, Javier Rodríguez Heredia, in the presentation of the Nuevo Mahou-Calderón project after the completion of the urbanization works of the first phase, which will give way to building works within urban renewal and improvement of the Madrid Río environment as it passes through the Arganzuela district.
Almeida has valued the privileged enclave of the place that was the headquarters of the Stadium Vicente Calderón. In addition, he highlighted that the area will continue to improve with "the work to cover the M-30 that the City Council, in collaboration with Atlético de Madrid, will develop next year and that will make it one of the best urban spaces that Madrilenians can enjoy ”.
During the presentation, the mayor highlighted that “today is a day in which build the Madrid of the future, that sustainable and livable Madrid that improves quality of life with a performance that exemplifies the best urban development in the city ”.
He also thanked the private initiative that "in these difficult times, has not ceased in its efforts to carry out emblematic projects for the city of Madrid as this is, without lowering our guard and without stopping dreaming that this project I had to get ahead ”.
New residential area
The area on which it is acting has a total buildable area of 147,000 m², in which 1,312 energy efficient homes will be built and you will be able to enjoy more than 73,000 m² of new parks and gardens.
Environmental sustainability will be one of the main characteristics of this area, for which, among other measures, the water needs of the species planted to respect the standards used by the administration. By on the other hand, the street lighting will be done with low consumption luminaires and there will be electric vehicle charging stations for, as the mayor has said, "Guarantee sustainable mobility within the city of Madrid". The project also complies with regulations on accessibility and removal of barriers.
Children will have playgrounds and older people will have of spaces to perform exercises. The environment will also have an area of skating and another dedicated especially to urban art.
Furthermore, as the mayor has underlined, “we are in a privileged place from the point of view of public transport, with the suburban station and metro station Pyramids and various EMT lines that allow citizens alternatives to private vehicle to move around the city ”. All this, without forgetting the green cycling ring that runs through the environment.
