The “Santiago Bernabéu Stadium Remodeling” project wins the Construsoft BIM Awards
The FCC Construcción project “Remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium” has been the winner of the Construsoft BIM Awards. Specifically, it has won in the sports and recreation category of Spain and LATAM as well as in the category of the general public vote of all Construsoft countries, having participated in more than 81 projects developed with Tekla Structures.
The award-winning steel frame construction model contains the iconic fixed and retractable roof, new towers B and C, the East building, the Skywalk, the museum beam and the façade substructure. The new fixed roof structure, of more than 9,000 tons of steel, is made up of two 177-meter east-west cable-stayed trusses and four 144-meter transverse trusses. The retractable roof slides over the inner running transversals, divided into two panels made up of 5 inflatable cushions measuring 72 by 7 meters between 6 hybrid steel-composite trusses measuring 72.5 meters in length. At its ends there are motorized bogies that carry out the translation and integrate the lifting mechanism.
Soon the candidacy of FCC Construcción with the commented project will be valued within the Tekla Global BIM Awards and it will be possible to vote among the rest of the winners.
