FCC Construcción and FCC Industrial have won the contract to improve the accessibility and adaptation to exchanger regulations from Maragall station, corresponding to line 4 and Line 5 of the Metropolitan Railway of Barcelona. The award amount amounts to at 8 million euros and has a term of 26 months.

The Maragall exchanger is an important connection point between the lines 4 and 5 of the Metropolitan Railway of Barcelona. The exchanger assembly it's conformed:

• Line 4 station, located under the Guinardó Round (between the 20th century and Paseo Maragall)
• Line 5 station, located under Paseo Maragall (between Av. Borbón and C. Warsaw)
• The connecting corridor between both stations located under the Maragall Station

The scope of the contract includes civil works and electromechanical installations of the cited stations: construction of new hallways instead of the current ones which will be demolished, elimination of the existing stairs in the connecting corridor L4-L5. In its place two ramps will be built, so the corridor will be adapted to people with reduced mobility.

All these activities will be developed allowing to keep the service in individual stations, so it will be necessary to perform different partial phases and various performances at night.
