FCC Construcción has won the Constructing Excellence in Wales award in the “Delivering Innovation and Added Value” category for its project to extend the A-465 motorway. The project, developed under a PPP model, consisted of the expansion of the A465 motorway, sections 5 and 6, which are 17.3 kilometres long and located between the towns of Dowlais Top, Merthyr Tydfil and Hirwaun.

This project has significantly improved mobility and connectivity in Wales, as well as boosting the local economy. The expansion of the A465 has involved a significant investment that has enabled the generation of a range of benefits for local companies participating in the project.

Among the many awards won by the project, we would highlight the CEEQUAL-BREEAM certification. CEEQUAL-BREEAM. This organisation has a sustainability assessment, rating and award scheme for civil engineering, infrastructure, landscaping and public works, with the aim of improving sustainability through best practice. The A465 project carried out by FCC Construcción has been awarded CEEQUAL certification with an excellent rating of over 82%.
