FCC Construcción starts the ONLYBIM project

FCC Construcción starts the ONLYBIM project, in which a module for the design and execution of Non-Linear Works will be developed under the BIM methodology.

As has been proven, for the diversification of the market and the increasing internationalization of construction projects, it is essential to create platforms that allow the exchange of information while facilitating the design and optimizing both the resources allocated to the works and the deadlines. with which they are made.

The Institute of Economic Development of the Principado de Asturias through the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan of Asturias, through FEDER Funds has approved the ONLYBIM Innovation project, “Development of a module for the design and execution of Non-Linear Works under BIM methodology ”, Part of which is its implementation in a FCCCO pilot project. The project has a duration of one year and a half (2019-2021), and will be developed jointly with the Asturian SME, Buhodra (ISTRAM ®).

The project will address the technical complexity involved in the conception and development of a new design module for civil engineering oriented to non-linear works and under the BIM perspective.

The action to be carried out involves the development of a design tool for civil engineering oriented to non-linear works that speeds up the design to its potentials (engineering companies, construction companies, public administrations) and guarantees the connection with the existing BIM tools . The technical objectives related to the development of the project are:

  1. Develop a module that facilitates the design and execution of non-linear works appropriate to the requirements of BIM
  2. Advance in the systematization of processes through the use of a versatile and agile tool that allows the connection between linear and non-linear works, based on the BIM methodology favoring the management of said projects

The technological opportunity presented by this project consists in the achievement of an agile and versatile tool for the design and construction of esplanades, rafts, water treatment plants and all kinds of non-linear works, which will be able to define a more efficient and agile methodology, and thus allow , carry out variants and study them to reduce the construction process, the costs associated with the execution of works and the environmental conditions they may produce. In addition, the scope of the project will allow to connect the modules of linear works with explanations, as well as with the 3D models and, finally with the Presto and TCQ budget programs. This connection will be one of the great advances for the companies of this consortium and the future exploitation of the ONLyBIM results.
