FCC Construcción begins construction of the new Courthouse in Martorell (Barcelona)
FCC Construcción has begun construction of the new Courthouse in Martorell, Barcelona. The project has a completion period of 35 months and a budget of over 16.2 million euros.
The new facility will bring together all the municipality's court buildings in a single modern and accessible building, tripling the current floor space. The new court building in Martorell will house the various court buildings currently scattered across different locations in a single 7,309.95 square metre space.
The future building will be located next to the Cercanías and Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat de Catalunya train stations, in a central and well-connected location. With this initiative, the Government of Catalonia reaffirms its commitment to a local, modern and efficient justice system, providing Martorell with facilities that meet the needs of a judicial district with more than 140,000 inhabitants spread across nine municipalities in Baix Llobregat and Masquefa (Anoia). The new judicial headquarters will reinforce Martorell's role as a leading judicial centre in the area.
The new building will significantly improve services for citizens, offering more comfortable, accessible and well-signposted facilities. In addition, there are plans to integrate victim support services, multi-purpose courtrooms and spaces designed for mediation and cooperation between jurisdictions, in line with 21st-century standards of justice.
