FCC Construcción participates in the Patrons dinner of the Spanish Chamber UK
FCC Construcción has participated in the Patrons dinner of the Spanish Chamber UK, which has brought together the main Spanish companies present in the British market.
FCC Construcción joined the Spanish Chamber UK a few weeks ago. The FCC Group's infrastructure area, with an accumulated experience of more than 120 years, is present in 24 countries and its activities cover all areas of engineering and construction.
It is a benchmark in the execution of transport infrastructure and urban solutions, as well as in residential and non-residential construction. Currently, it is the fourth construction company in Spain, according to contract volume, and is among the top 40 in the world, according to the classification of the international magazine ENR. It has proven experience in developing projects under concession and has a group of companies dedicated to the industrial sector, grouped under the FCC Industrial brand, as well as other activities related to the construction sector.
FCC Construcción has been present in the United Kingdom for more than 20 years, becoming one of the reference companies in the country. A company that has materialized its experience through major projects such as the Mersey Bridge in Liverpool (United Kingdom). It was the first and only Spanish construction company to participate in the development of the infrastructure for the 2012 London Olympics.
Currently, it is carrying out the design of the new hospital in Jersey (United Kingdom). This first contract awarded has a value of 40 million euros and has a term of one and a half years, until the completion of the design of the new hospital.
In addition, it is part of the consortium that is executing the project to widen the A465 motorway sections 5 and 6, in Wales (United Kingdom). The amount of the project amounts to 653 million euros and has a term that extends until May 2025.
The project developed under the PPP model consists of the expansion of the A465 highway, in sections 5 and 6, which have a length of 17.3 kilometers and are located between the towns of Dowlais Top, Merthyr Tydfil and Hirwaun. Currently, these sections of the highway have only one carriageway and heavy traffic.
The award of the project, which will complete the widening of the A465 highway, is important for the improvement of mobility and connectivity in Wales, as well as for the reactivation of the local economy. The expansion of the A465 represents a significant investment that will enable the generation of a set of benefits for local companies that participate in the development of the work.
