FCC Construcción fills the last dock at the Port of Açu terminal TX1

16 months after having started the filling of the first Port of Açu dock via land, and 46 months after having carried out its submersion, the filling process with the final floating dock has come to an end.

The process, which began by transporting docks in semi-submersible vessels from the Port of Algeciras to their final destination at the Port of Açu, and as such covering a distance of 7,960 km, has successfully finished 17 days before the date stipulated in the contractual framework subject to R$ 1 million (€ 290,230.00) penalty.

The project is currently at its final phase and stands at 93% completion. Completing this new phase of the complex port will mean a significant growth in its serviceability, whereby allowing the reception and docking of large Capesize vessels.
