The sector has an impact on all spheres of development, directly influencing social welfare, growth and strengthening of the economy, competitiveness and care for the environment.

This sector currently represents 5.8% of Spanish GDP and currently employs 1,244,077 workers, representing 6.5% of the share of people employed in the Spanish economy as a whole.

Companies in the sector have a significant impact on different SDGs and goals of the 2030 Agenda. The construction of sustainable infrastructures, the creation of smart cities, based on innovation, the circular economy and the integration of new technologies or energy efficiency, are some of the opportunities offered
